This Privacy Policy explains how EmployedScholar ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit employedscholar.com or otherwise interact with our services. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our site. Questions can be directed to hello@employedscholar.com.
Information We Collect
We collect personal information you provide directly to us, such as your name, email address, phone number, and contact preferences, when you fill out a form, download a template, or contact us.
We also automatically collect certain technical information when you visit the site, including your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring URLs, general location, and how you interact with our pages. This information does not by itself identify you personally and is used to keep the site secure and to understand how it's being used.
We do not process sensitive personal information (such as racial or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs), and we do not collect information about you from third parties.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and deliver the services you request
- Protect our site against fraud and misuse
- Understand usage trends and improve our content and services
- Communicate with you when you reach out to us
- Comply with legal obligations
Sharing Your Information
We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share information with service providers who help us operate the site (such as our email and form-handling tools) under contract, or if required by law, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.
Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site secure, remember preferences, and understand how visitors use our pages. We use Google Analytics to track and analyze site usage. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, manage ad personalization through Google Ads Settings, or review Google's practices in their Privacy Policy. Our use of any Google API data adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Most browsers let you control or block cookies through their settings. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the site function.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Inferences we draw from your data (for example, to understand your interests) are kept for up to 6 months.
How We Protect Your Information
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. By using this site, you confirm you are at least 18, or are a parent/guardian consenting on behalf of a minor dependent. If you believe we've inadvertently collected data from a child under 18, contact us at hello@employedscholar.com and we will delete it.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, access or correct it, request its deletion, obtain a copy of it, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share your data). You may also designate an authorized agent to exercise these rights on your behalf, subject to identity verification.
To exercise these rights, submit a data request form, visit our Contact page, or email hello@employedscholar.com.
California residents may also request, once per year and free of charge, information about any personal data disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes under California's "Shine the Light" law, by using the same contact methods above.
Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. There is currently no unified industry standard for how to respond to these signals, so we do not currently respond to them.
